And after more than 80 years in the business, we’ve gotten pretty good at knowing what makes a fabric worth talking about.

United Fabrics is a wholesale upholstery resource for designers, upholsterers, manufacturers, and any industry professional looking for materials that bring something special to a space. 

We curate and develop an ever-evolving collection of fabrics, faux leathers, and leathers—balancing color, texture, pattern, performance, quality, and value.

Some are classic. Some are unexpected. Some are made to work hard. Others are made to steal the show.

There’s a lot of fabric out there. Our job is to make finding the right one a little easier.

Our Design Team is constantly searching for new colors, constructions, textures, patterns, and materials to bring into the collection. We keep an eye on the trends, but always keep our roots firmly planted in what feels United.

We look for materials with a point of view—and the versatility to make their way into all kinds of spaces.

From hardworking performance fabrics to luxurious velvets, expressive patterns to everyday textures, our collection is designed to give you plenty to work with.

a little history: it all started in philadelphia.

The year was 1946.

 

United Fabrics began in Old City Philadelphia, near 3rd and Chestnut, shortly after World War II. Back then, it was one roll of fabric at a time: buy it, sell it, repeat. Over time, those rolls became a collection, and the collection became a business that eventually outgrew its Philadelphia home. So, we crossed the bridge into Pennsauken, New Jersey, where our headquarters remain today.

 

In 1987, we acquired Pacific Hide & Leather in Southern California, adding decades of leather expertise and industry relationships to the business—and giving us an unparalleled coast-to-coast service. 

 

Over the years, United Fabrics transitioned from its original ownership to longtime employees Mitch Warwick and Neal Grobman. Today, their sons, Scott Warwick and Bob Grobman, lead the company.

More than 80 years later, we’re still family-owned, still independent, and still evolving. A lot has changed since 1946. Our love of fabric—and our commitment to our customers and to exceptional service—hasn’t.
